JR Tokai has developed a new train information system that adopts a full-color LED display for which luminance is more than 10 times higher than that of previous products.In this project, We attempted to improve visibility through the design of optimal, easy-to-view and readily understandable guidance units by using typeface and color more effectively. Using the latest technology to address these considerations resulted in comfortable public designs that encourage the aged and the handicapped to move freely around station spaces. Human-mechanical and human-to-human communications were improved via a design balance.
