This is the successor to the full-color Shinkansen station LED display designed in 2002 (which won the Good Design Award in 2003). The display is now LCD, and the fonts and colors are clearer. Not only was a highly visible font selected, and colors chosen with ease of viewing in mind, but the simple design was created with a focus on functionality as a sign displaying important "train information."
